This module is designed to learn using esReven for Vulnerability research or Malware Analysis on Intel/Windows. The goals are to make sure that by the end of the training trainees:
- have new abilities to solve their professional challenges
- are autonomous using the product
- know how to write scripts and automate the product’s workflow
Covered Topics
What you will learn:
- Understanding esReven – Discovering the tool from basic to advanced features
- Using Axion – Learn how to use esReven-Axion’s Timeless Analysis features to analyze execution traces.
- Using esReven Workflow
- Given a vulnerability scenario, learn how to record a scenario, generate a trace database and analyze it with Axion, how to make recording smaller (lightening VM) or focusing on Malware analysis.
- Automation using esReven – Learn how to utilize esReven in an automated environment (API, scripting, record/replay).
Exercises
Practical examples will be used to put the concept into practice:
- Crash Analysis – Learn how to analyze a crash in user-land and kernel-land.
- Practice regular Reverse engineering use cases.
Trainees will explore real vulnerabilities using esReven.
Requirements
A valid esReven instance with the ability to install the training materials.
As an option, a remote esReven instance can be provided.
